Silent Whispers: My Child

When i peered in the room,
she was already awake.
Morning sunrise setting her skin aglow,
silhouettes of small hands danced on the wall.
Eyes tracking the room as though clouds floated above,
soft coos filled the room with a tranquil love.
Her movements so subtle,
and the implications so broad.
Just as I closed the door and her lids fell shut,
laughter escaped her lips and her hands reached up.
Who was she hugging?
As her arms collapsed,
gently into sleep or maybe just a nap.
I stayed at the door and stared in awe,
wondering when I stopped having such conversations with God?
