Strong Black Woman – How Should They Act?

Every few months or so I get into a debate about “Brotha’s aren’t marrying sistah’s” or “Ain’t no decent Black Men Around”, “I can’t find a man on
my level”, “Black Men can’t handle a strong sistah”, etc. I’m sure many of us may have been involved in such a discussion with a Black Woman where we may end up defending men or lashing out at Black Women, or perhaps just walk away? For me, I couldn’t take it anymore , because I know a lot of Black Men that have had to deal with nonsense or are continually overlooked for reasons that defy logic. However, today, I decided to restrain my knee jerk reaction to defend “Black Men” or get into a tit for tat argument that breaks down into a “war of the sexes”. Instead, I asked the Black Women I was speaking to a simple question:
What does it mean to be a strong black woman in a relationship? Specifically, what are you supposed to do and how are you supposed to act with your mate?
